Strategic IR

Industrial relations involves managing stakeholder relationships at the workplace within complex legal and regulatory frameworks.

Employers, employees, unions, regulatory bodies, independent tribunals and governments have a variety of interests in setting and regulating workplace terms and conditions.

Our approach delivers practical outcomes built on a unique combination of technical proficiency, multidisciplinary experience, innovative ideas and strategic thinking.

Wage Compliance

We provide preventative and remedial wage compliance and underpayment solutions.

Our team has unique experience assessing and remediating large and complex underpayments and wage compliance challenges.

We bring a wealth of experience interpreting modern awards, enterprise agreements and other terms and conditions of employment.

Our team has exclusive access to CheckPay, a proprietary underpayment analysis tool which supports fast and precise underpayment calculations and reporting at a fraction of the cost of people undertaking this work.

Enterprise Agreements

We offer structure and end-to-end services to support the enterprise bargaining process. We can also provide assistance with any discrete aspect of bargaining or an enterprise agreement.

We deliver enterprise agreements which comply with the latest legislative requirements - and satisfy the better off overall test alongside the current version of the relevant modern award.

Our services also include extended implementation support for enterprise agreements and ongoing wage audit and compliance reporting.

Disputes and Complaints

Our team benefits from extensive general management and HR leadership experience in our ability to assist in the resolution of workplace disputes or complaints, whether these progress to a court of tribunal or not.

Our team and our trusted network can also provide workplace investigation services.

BOOT Analysis

Enterprise agreements must pass the Better Off Overall Test (BOOT) to be approved. We offer a comprehensive review of the terms of an enterprise agreement against those in the current version of the relevant modern award.

The BOOT regularly evolves and changes to the law and through the case decisions and internal processes of the Fair Work Commission over time.

A thorough BOOT analysis can reduce the risk that an enterprise agreement is not approved - or requires costly or unpredictable undertakings.

Legal Advice and Representation

We provide advice in employment law and industrial relations matters - from quick and accessible telephone advice through to complex written advices.

We can assist with industrial relations and employment law matters before the Fair Work Commission, State industrial tribunals and both federal and State courts throughout Australia.

We also assist during investigations conducted by the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Balloting

We conduct voting for enterprise agreements using iVOTEr, our internally developed proprietary balloting system.

iVOTEr delivers the ballot through sms, email or both through a secure and confidential platform.

We offer balloting through iVOTEr as a standalone service, as well as to our enterprise agreement clients.

Employee Management

We support employers in the management of their employees across a wide variety of circumstances.

Good employee management enables employers to maintain a positive and harmonious workplace.

We support employers to make the right decisions about how they manage things like performance and disciplinary cases, redundancies and grievances, minimising the risk of claims or litigation.
